How to rock the floral wedding trend

Flowers

Flowers have always taken centre stage at a wedding, from gorgeous floral crowns, styled with statement blooms, to beautiful, personalised bouquets. However, with the seasons, the floral fashions change, whether we trade in our floral crowns for a golden leaf hair piece, or we trade glamorous peonies for homegrown wildflowers, every year and every season sees a new floral trend work its way into our hearts. What are some of the more endearing floral trends of the 2017 Spring/Summer season? Read on to discover our favourites.

Bold blooms

Gone are the days when brides embraced cool whites and girly pastels in their wedding day bouquets and floral hair pieces. In 2017, we welcome bouquets overflowing with flowers in full bloom. This year, brides will be embracing masses of flowers in their wedding bouquet, rather than a more demure or simplistic floral arrangement. Wave goodbye to milky pastels, in addition to bold flowers, 2017 bouquets are adorned with flowers in gorgeous jewelled tones – bright reds, royal blues and vivid oranges all combine for a joyful feel.

Wild flowers

The boho bridal style has been big news since we kicked off the noughties and nowhere is this more apparent for Spring/ Summer 2017 than in the thousands of bridal bouquets filled with stunning bohemian flowers. Fresh, wild flowers and foliage bring a wonderful free-spirited appeal to any bride’s look.

As the bohemian bridal style has a timeless charm to it, you won’t feel as though you are simply following the crowd. A bohemian wedding has a freshness and authenticity to it then that saves it from becoming stale, even though it has been done many times before.

Going vintage

The 1920’s teardrop bouquet is back in fashion, thanks to our Netflix binges on old school dramas. Bride Magazine reports on this 2017 floral trend in more detail:

Interflora’s expert florists are seeing brides-to-be choosing more elegant tear-drop shaped bouquets for their 2017 wedding. These arrangements are full of large and beautiful country garden flowers including gorgeous hydrangeas, lily of the valley and cream gardenias. This sophisticated, timeless style was a must-have in the 1980s but royal influences like Netflix drama, The Crown, has inspired the return of this trend – updated for 2017 with must-have shades of green.”

Shimmering metallics

Metallics are trending for 2017, think flowers sprayed in silvers, silvery pinks and golds. These styles bring a magic and sense of sophistication to a bride’s look. Glitter and crystals also adorn our 2017 floral arrangements, bringing a finishing dusting of magic to a bride’s bouquet.  These metallic blossoms go very well with the hot pinks and burning orange buds that are right on trend for this season.

Brooch bridal bouquets are also making a regular appearance this season, these beautiful bouquets are styled from pretty brooches that can be kept cherish long after your wedding day is over.

Our favourite style this season has to be the bold hues seen in the latest bridal bouquets.  Which buds will you embrace for your bridal fashion this summer?
