Our Facebook Cover Couple Laura and Reuben married here at St Audries Park wedding venue on 4th March 2011 which was a magical fairy tale wedding. They then won a competition to feature on St Audries Park Facebook page.
Laura and Reuben tell their story in their very own words, what a super two years they’ve had!
We first met at school when we were 14 and soon became the best of friends, spending almost all of our spare time with each other. It was New Years Eve 2002 when we finally got together though when we were 15. We’ve been inseparable ever since. I guess like our fairy tale wedding, it’s the story of the best of friends falling in love and spending the rest of our lives together.
Reuben proposed to me on my 22nd birthday and we started looking at venues almost immediately. We didn’t really have an idea of what we wanted straight away so we just looked at a few local venues, but it became obvious that they weren’t what we wanted. We came across St Audries Park website and instantly we both knew we had to go and look around. As soon as we arrived at St Audries Park we discovered just how blown away you can feel when you find the venue that is meant to be.
A lovely lady showed us around and as soon as we went into the Great Hall, before we had even seen the rest of the house and grounds we both looked at each other with the biggest of smiles – we had found our venue! The further we explored the house and grounds including the beautiful Orangery, we knew it was perfect for us.

We’re both very organised people so were on top of the planning from day one. We planned everything together, from designing and making our own stationery, our table centre pieces to the flowers. We both feel that this brought us even closer together. We were offered help with things at various stages from family but we preferred to do it ourselves which made the run up to the big day even more exciting.
Our wedding day was perfect.
We had beautiful weather for our March wedding. Our day ran so smoothly and that was mainly down to Claire, our Front of House Manager and her wonderful team on the day. The day honestly went better than we could ever have imagined. All of our guests were so impressed by all of the staff at St Audries Park and how helpful they are, nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing, and the house and grounds looked stunning. Our day was everything we could have asked for and more.
All of our guests stayed overnight too. It was lovely to wake up as newlyweds and to be with all of our family and friends, then to enjoy a fabulous English breakfast.
The perfect ending to an amazing wedding. Everything was beautiful, it really was the best day of our lives and we always said we would return!
And return we did to celebrate both our first and second anniversaries. We chose the meal that we had at our wedding which tasted just as good as we remembered! We dined in the Drawing Room which overlooks the stunning Orangery. We then enjoyed an overnight stay in the cosy Holly Cottage.
We have had a remarkable 2 years and we have also been lucky to win two wonderful competitions. We were voted Wedding of the Year by the Bristol and Somerset Wedding Magazine !
The second was to become the Cover Couple for St Audries Park and appearing on the Cover Album on their Facebook page.
What a fabulous 2 years we have had!!
