Today’s ‘Real Life Wedding’ blog features Claire and Richard who were married with us on Sunday 14th August 2016.
Although Claire, Richard and the boys live over 3 hours away from St Audries Park they are by no means strangers to the beauty of West Somerset as they have close family living only 10 minutes from the venue. They have enjoyed many holidays and visits to the area and it is no wonder why they wanted to ‘tie the knot’ amidst the splendour and beauty of St Audries Park.
Claire and the girls arrived early on the morning of the wedding to get ready in the Bride’s Dressing Room. It wasn’t long before Claire and her bridesmaids were having their hair and make-up done and enjoying a couple of glasses of bubbly. Meanwhile Richard was making his way to the venue to meet his fabulous groomsmen.
Richard met with his groomsmen and they soon got into the swing of the day- toasting to happy times both past and present whilst sampling the liquid refreshment in the Cocktail Bar.
During the morning, Aly, their Personal Wedding Manager was busy meeting suppliers and briefing our super team members on the order of the day. With the arrival of the flowers and the cake then Mark from Evolve Photography we were ready to go. Finally with the arrival of the Registrars, the day was ready to proceed.
The ceremony was conducted in the lovely warm and sunny Orangery at 2.00pm with guests witnessing the marriage of Claire and Richard.
A wonderful confetti line awaited the happy couple as they left the orangery and a Rose Petal Confetti shower took place. Guests then enjoyed lovely summer welcome drinks consisting of Cosmopolitans and Mojitos as well as orange juice for the children. The sun behaved and shone for the photographs.
Guests were welcomed into the wedding breakfast at 4.30pm and the proceedings started with the light hearted speeches. A delicious 3 course meal was then served at 5.00pm. This consisted of a wonderful array of fresh, local, free range produce that chef created into mouth watering dishes – Spicy Red Pepper & Butternut Squash Soup followed by Free Range Chicken Breast stuffed with Ham & Leek served with a Mushroom Sauce then to follow a delicious Chocolate Tart Indulgence.
Following the wedding breakfast tea and coffee had been served and the wedding breakfast drew to a close with the announcement that the Champagne Bar was open for the evening party.
The evening party soon got under way with the ceremony of ‘cutting the cake’ followed by Claire and Richard’s first dance and guests partying until late into the evening. At 9.30pm chef had prepared a wonderful Hog Roast Supper for all guests to enjoy. At midnight the evening celebrations were drawing to a close and the time came to say goodnight to a wonderful wedding party.
Most guests stayed overnight and enjoyed a famous St Audries full English breakfast the following morning in the Banqueting Hall.
A wonderful couple had the most wonderful wedding and everyone at St Audries Park wishes Claire and Richard a lifetime of happiness and success. We know we will see them again one day soon!
