Today’s ‘Real Wedding’ blog is all about Johanna and Steve who were married with us on Friday 23rd August 2013.
Living in Bristol, Johanna and Steve made the short journey early morning to be with us to start the preparations for their very special day. Johanna chose to get ready with her bridesmaids in the Lady Hood Suite whilst Steve and his groomsmen dressed in the Countess Dunraven Suite.
During the morning, Janette, our Front of House Manager was busy meeting suppliers and briefing our super team members on the order of the day. With the flowers delivered by Angela Chamberlain, the cake decorated and displayed, Beccy from Beccy Smart photography armed with her camera and finally the arrival of the Registrars, the day was ready to proceed….
The ceremony was conducted in the lovely Orangery at 2pm with 60 guests witnessing the marriage of Johanna and Steve. Forest Green and Gold chair cover sashes looked stunning in the early summer sunshine.
Refreshing welcome drinks which included Pimms & Lemonade and Apple Breeze were served on the lawns. Beccy from Beccy Smart Photography did a marvelous job in organising the family and group photographs. A confetti line greeted Johanna and Steve as they entered the grand staircase along with words of congratulations and best wishes.
Guests were welcomed into the wedding breakfast which was served at 4.30 pm and consisted of a wonderful array of fresh locally produced free range produce that chef created into mouth watering dishes. The wedding breakfast was finished with chef’s delightful lemon tart for dessert.
The wedding breakfast was drawn to a close after the humourous speeches. A move to the Drawing Room saw Johanna and Steve cutting their cake. The wedding cake was then enjoyed along with cups of tea and coffee.
With the arrival of the evening guests, the party soon got under way, starting with Johanna and Steve performing their first dance. After a round of applause, the dancing began with all guests partying until late into the evening. At midnight the evening celebrations were drawing to a close and the time came to say goodnight to a wonderful wedding party.
Most guests stayed overnight and enjoyed a famous St Audries full English breakfast the following morning in the Dining Room.
A wonderful couple had the most wonderful wedding and everyone at St Audries Park wish Johanna and Steve a lifetime of happiness and success. We know we will see them again one day soon!
