Today’s ‘Real Wedding’ blog is all about Isabelle and James who were married with us on Saturday 10th August 2013.
Living in West Sussex, James made the journey early morning to be with us to start the preparations for his very special day. Isabelle chose to arrive the night before and stay overnight in Holly Cottage. The ladies were woken nice and early and treated to chef’s lovely fresh warm Croissants. It wasn’t long before Isabelle and her bridesmaids were having their hair and makeup done in the Bride’s changing room.
During the morning, Becca, our Front of House Manager was busy meeting suppliers and briefing our super team members on the order of the day. With the flowers delivered by Wendy Symes, the cake decorated by The Cake Stand and Limeleaf Photography armed with their cameras and finally the arrival of the Registrars, the day was ready to proceed….
The ceremony was conducted in the lovely Orangery at 1.30pm with 106 guests witnessing the marriage of Isabelle and James. St Audries Park chair covers and sage sashes looked stunning in the early summer sunshine. Whilst the register was being signed guests were treated to the sounds of the children’s choir who sang two songs.
A short blessing then took place at St Etheldreda’s Church which is situated near to the Main House.
Guests were welcomed into the wedding breakfast which was served at 5.00 pm and consisted of a wonderful array of fresh locally produced free range produce that chef created into mouth watering dishes. The wedding breakfast was finished with chef’s delightful mascarpone cheesecake for dessert.
The wedding breakfast was drawn to a close after the humourous speeches. A move to the Great Hall saw Isabelle and James cutting their cake just prior to performing their first dance. The wedding cake was then enjoyed along with the evening buffet.
With the arrival of the evening guests, the party soon got under way. After a round of applause following Isabelle and Jame’s first dance, the dancing began with all guests partying until late into the evening. At midnight the evening celebrations were drawing to a close and the time came to say goodnight to a wonderful wedding party.
Most guests stayed overnight and enjoyed a famous St Audries full English breakfast the following morning in the Dining Room.
A wonderful couple had the most wonderful wedding and everyone at St Audries Park wish Isabelle and James a lifetime of happiness and success. We know we will see them again one day soon!
