On 3rd November 2012, St Audries Park was the setting for the fabulous wedding of Carrie and Erik. The weather was great compared to some of the days we had through the summer, maybe a little cold but at least it was dry with lovely autumn light.
Here Carrie tells their story-
We met at a wedding in France in September 2011. As soon as Erik’s friends met me they knew we were perfect for each other, we had no idea until after we got together that they felt this way. As we were busy looking after the Bride and Groom that day, we didn’t get chance to talk, but the following day Erik arrived with the most amazing roses and a request for a date which I accepted.
We commuted to and from Paris and Bristol for 5 months before Erik moved to Bristol in March 2012. He proposed in the May on a surprise weekend away in Cornwall. I was in the process of telling him the story of limpets when he went down on one knee! This was just 8 months after we met and as you know we were married 6 months after that!
We loved our wedding and don’t know what would we have done without Claire, our Front of House Manager. We both agree our favourite part of the day was the actual ceremony. We laughed and cried our way through it all as you can see in the pictures. It just felt so personal and intimate even with over 100 people there. The Orangery was beautiful.
The special touches like our respective country flags flying high above St Audries Park and the male voice choir singing inside was amazing. Many people have commented that it was one of the best weddings they have ever been too which is a huge compliment to everyone involved.
We honeymooned in Peru- hiking and camping in the mountains. Then onto the private island of Mustique (the luxury part of the holiday) which was amazing, though Kate and William just missed our visit!
Thank you again St Audries Park for a wonderful wedding day!
Carrie and Erik xx
