James proposed to Annabel in a lovely warm and cosy winter setting on Christmas Eve in front of his family. James said he had a Christmas Eve present to give to Annabel and with that he got down on one knee. ‘I burst out crying with happiness’.
Their first step into wedding planning was a beautiful wedding file which was given to Annabel by her mum. It was filled with pictures from magazines such as Brides Magazine. ‘I generally used Pinterest for ideas and inspiration’.
St Audries Park is situated in the heart of picturesque parkland with beautiful sea views, grand rooms such as the Great Hall and Banqueting Hall, luxury accommodation for over 100 guests and a glorious Victorian Orangery for your civil ceremony. ‘It was the first venue on our list and as soon as we saw St Audries Park and had a tour we fell in love with it so we didn’t need to look at any others’
James and Annabel booked our amazing night before package (Party at Peregrine) so they started the excitement of their big day the night before with 40 of their closest family and friends. Our dedicated waiting and bar team met their guests on arrival with cocktails and classic welcome drinks, whilst our Head Chef prepared their two course BBQ to enjoy in our beautiful private garden at Peregrine House later in the evening. Overnight accommodation and a continental breakfast were also included in their night before package. ‘The most important factor for us was a lovely venue in which all our family could stay for a couple days and make it a big celebration’.
The bridal party looked beautiful in their long, light blue dresses which are a perfect colour choice for a spring wedding. ‘My best friends and sister were my bridesmaids’. James is half Scottish so it was really important to incorporate his heritage in their wedding day. ‘We decided to have kilts for James, his dad and his brother and they looked gorgeous and I am so happy we decided to have them’.
The wedding cake was the biggest wedding saving for them both, as Annabel’s cousin made the cake and she had a particular theme for her wedding day ‘I love dinosaurs so we had a dinosaur cake topper and dinosaur eggs for my wedding favours’. Both James and Annabel also hired the St Audries Candy Cart and filled it with old school favourites such as, fizzy cola bottles, fruit salads, black jacks and sherbet lemons which went down a treat!
Annabel and James offered their guests a three course menu to pre-order from in advance which included a rich ham terrine, succulent chicken breast, fresh salads, and our mother-watering meringue pie. ‘The food at St Audries Park was amazing and they couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating’.
If they could do it all again, we’d…
‘We would do nothing differently it was absolutely perfect’
Both Annabel and James hope to go on their honeymoon to Mexico in 2018! ‘I wanted to have something after the wedding to look forward to’.
