Andrew proposed in a very romantic setting, arranging a barbeque by a river close to their house with a bottle of champagne. Andrew told Faye a story of his late mum and a ring that she fell in love with on a trip to Lyme Regis. This was the only thing that Andrew’s mum kept from his dad after they had separated and Andrew told Faye how special this ring was to him and that it seemed right that Faye should now have it.
‘He asked me to marry him and I cried (A Lot!)’
Both Faye and Andrew had always loved St Audries Park! Faye used to commute past our beautiful venue, so it was always her first choice. Faye’s mum booked in a surprise viewing appointment and they didn’t look back!
‘Naturally we all fell in love with St Audries, not only was it a stunningly beautiful location but being able to have the wedding and reception at the same location was extremely convenient.’
Andrew and Faye wanted to use everything that they loved as a theme and used Pinterest to find inspiration and to help them incorporate things they loved into their wedding – Disney, Harry Potter, Fairies, Superheroes and Dinosaurs.
Our stunning Orangery at St Audries Park is flooded with natural light, giving it an airy and magical feel making it the perfect place for the couple to get married! ‘The ivy in the Orangery really brought the outside in and made me feel like I could be a Fairy Princess. It really was magical… I cannot express the happiness, love and emotion I felt in that room.’
Faye and Andrew also used props to help theme the day including Harry Potter themed table decorations, dinosaur masks, superhero Lego figures and our candle package to set the ambience.
Faye’s dad also organised 7ft LOVE letters that sat beautifully on the lawn outside the main house. ‘They were great for photos, and our guests had a lot of fun posing with these.’
Faye used the beautifully ornate staircase in the Great Hall for the ‘throwing of the bouquet’ as well as group photos.
Faye chose a Sophie Tolli dress in Champagne and kept it a surprise for everyone on their big day ‘I knew the traditional look of the dress was going to shock them (Hopefully they weren’t disappointed).’
Andrew took his wedding style inspiration from his favourite film “I Love You, Man” with a blue skinny fit suit with his groomsmen in black suits with bow ties.
Reflecting on their magical wedding day, Andrew and Faye’s only advice would be to ‘Keep true to yourself’ they wanted to do things in their own way with their own style and all of their guests loved it!
They are planning to have a honeymoon to Disney Land and Universal Studios in Florida in 2018!
