This year has seen some wonderful and exciting flower trends, colours and alterative designs.
Think colourful
Rainbow colours, bold brights, grand styling touches and contemporary containers are all going to be huge this year. Big blooms will be used to create a theatrical feel- think supersized Dahlias, Hydrangeas, Eanunculus, Tulips and Anemones.
Accent shades
The use of one main flower colour teamed with a strong accent colour (such as lemon and grey, peach and emerald or coral and turquoise) will also be a popular look. Prints and graphics such as stripes and spots, stylised fonts, and accessories such as pinwheels will be used to inject a fun retro feel with a modern twist.
Gatsby glamour
This year will see a return to elegance with hints of 1920s styling and all things period drama. Rich colours teamed with old gold, pearls, antique mirrors, velvet, brocade, beading and lots of texture.
Go modern
Fresh clean lines will be used to style contemporary celebrations. Team dark vases with pure white blooms; Anemones, Hydrangeas and Ranunculus are all perfect for this.
Viva vintage
Vintage will continue to be popular- a beautiful pastel pallet of blush pinks, pale peaches and washed-out foliage combined with blowsy Roses, papery blooms and unusual foliage will give your day a real bohemian feel.
Get creative
The DIY trend will remain strong in 2013– incorporate containers filled with loosely-styled blooms, paper decorations and homegrown herbs. They also make great gifts to present to guests at the end of the evening.
I do hope that this little blog has helped you reach a decision on which flowers to choose for your wedding!
