How to send off the happy couple in style

While, thanks to the popularity of wedding night accommodation, the traditional send-off that guests give to the happy couple has changed slightly, ending the wedding night with a bang is still recommended.

Whether staying with us in our luxurious honeymoon suite or jetting straight off to your chosen honeymoon destination, hosting a send-off that’s as memorable as the rest of your special day is a must. Some couples are even staging fake send-offs midway through their day without actually going anywhere. Here photographer Kara Abbey explains why:

“Pausing midway through the reception to ‘fake’ a Grand Exit, not only allows you to get great images with the bulk of your guests still present, but it allows those who need to head out to still feel like they completed the day & didn’t miss anything. It also means that you don’t have to book your photographer until the very end of your reception (which typically saves some money!).”

The unforgettable fireworks display

Here at St Audries Park, we have an approved fireworks supplier for our venue (it’s the same story across all the stunning wedding venues that form part of the Country House Weddings collection), which means you have everything you need to host a send-off that’s always a hit with bride, groom and guests.

Our supplier can help you plan a truly unforgettable fireworks display, which will be hosted in our designated display area on-site.

The sparkler send-off

For plenty of shine without the big bangs, make a sparkler send-off a part of your wedding day. This twinkling idea means you and your new spouse can shine like the stars you are. A sparkler send-off is also a great opportunity to capture some flawless wedding photos that are certain to play a starring role in your wider wedding album.

You can go flameless with your sparklers by giving guests glow sticks, fibre optic wands or LED balloons to wave to achieve the same effect without the risk.

The music procession

Music-loving couples can make their favourite tunes – either live or recorded – a part of their send-off. In fact, you’ll find lots of inspiration for picking celebratory wedding send-off songs.

When planning your personalised music procession, don’t forget to set the scene. Use flameless candles to light the way, get your guests to wave streamers or blow bubbles to bid you a fond farewell, or encourage everyone to toss more traditional flower petals as you’re serenaded by song during your grand exit.

The traditional flourish

Let those wedding bells ring in your couples’ honour as they leave as newlyweds. As well as being a great keepsake that each and every one of your guests can treasure, the sweet sound of ringing bells provides a lovely link to tradition.
