Months, or even years, of careful planning are about to come to fruition, so we wouldn’t blame you for getting a little stressed on the morning of your wedding day. Here at St Audries Park, we’ve been delivering dream wedding days for over 25 years. During this time, we’ve developed quite the knack for helping couples plan and execute the wedding celebrations they’ve always envisaged. Wedding mornings however can get to the most well-prepared brides and grooms. Here we share our top tips for planning a stress-free wedding morning so you can enjoy every moment of your special day.
Start preparations the night before
Whilst the whole wedding planning process will have begun long ago, there are some things you simply can’t begin until the hours before you walk down the aisle. Doing as much as you can the night before will stand you in good stead for a stress-free wedding morning. As well as ticking those skincare and beauty musts off your list (washing your hair, hair removal, manicures and pedicures etc), take some time to unwind. Having a massage the night before your wedding will soothe those stresses and prepare your body for the night’s sleep you need on the eve of your wedding day.
Making sure all preparations for your wedding ceremony and reception have been finalised will ensure you can wake up on your wedding day knowing everything is ready.
Plan a great breakfast
Those butterflies in your tummy may not leave you the hungriest on your wedding morning, but it is important that you start the day off right. You need to feel energised throughout your wedding day, and with aisles to walk down, photographs to take and guests to schmooze that gap between breakfast and your wedding breakfast is awfully wide. Brides offers some great advice for avoiding the ‘hangry’ bride:
“Do yourself a favour and eat a light breakfast. ‘With all the commotion and emotion of the day, you need to start with a breakfast to help keep you going and glowing,’ Colley says. She suggests peanut butter toast with a side of fruit, Greek yogurt with granola or a small whole grain bagel with light cream cheese. The whole grain-fat combo will energize you without bloat and help fight off nausea that could come with pre-wedding butterflies.”
Take supplies
Whether you’re getting ready here at St Audries Park or at home, being prepared with the supplies that help you enjoy your wedding morning is important. An iPod loaded with your favourite songs is a must for your wedding morning and will keep you relaxed as those final preparations are made. Having an emergency wedding kit is another must, and will ensure any wardrobe malfunctions don’t dampen your spirits. Bobby pins, painkillers, stain remover, safety pins and scissors are recommended.
Create a great space
In addition to having the right supplies, having the right people around you can make a huge difference to wedding morning preparations. Invite family and friends that will help you start the celebration early as well as provide calming encouragement. Choose your wedding morning preparation space in advance too, ensuring it has the space and natural light you need to get ready peacefully.
