Today’s ‘Real Wedding’ blog is all about Christine and Alex who were married with us over the lovely long Bank holiday weekend on Friday 3rd May 2013.
Living in Devon, Christine and Alex made the short journey early morning to be with us to start the preparations for their very special day. Christine chose to get ready with her bridesmaids in the Lord Audrie Suite whilst Alex and his groomsmen dressed in the bridal suite- Lady Hood. Alex and his companions had a little refreshment in the form of bacon baps and beer served at midday, just to keep any hunger at bay!
During the morning, Janette- our Front of House Manager was busy meeting suppliers and briefing our super team members on the order of the day. With the flowers delivered by Peamore Flora, the cake decorated and displayed, Martyn from Westphotography and finally the arrival of the Registrars, the day was ready to proceed….
The ceremony was conducted in the lovely Orangery at 2pm with 60 guests witnessing the marriage of Christine and Alex. Gold chair cover sashes looked stunning in the early summer sunshine.
A confetti line greeted Christine and Alex as they left the Orangery along with words of congratulations and best wishes. Canapes were served on the lawns along with refreshing welcome drinks which included Sparkling Pinot Grigio, Mojitos and Bucks Fizz. Martyn from Westphotography did a marvelous job in organising the family and group photographs.
At 4pm a greeting line was formed to welcome the guests into the wedding breakfast which was served at 4.30 pm and consisted of a wonderful array of fresh locally produced free range produce that chef created into mouth watering dishes. For dessert the ladies enjoyed strawberry delice and the gentlemen enjoyed chocolate fudge brownie.
The wedding breakfast was drawn to a close after the humourous speeches. A move to the Drawing Room saw Christine and Alex cutting their cake. The wedding cake was then enjoyed along with a cup of tea or coffee.
With the arrival of the evening guests, the party soon got under way, starting with Christine and Alex performing their first dance. After a round of applause, the dancing began with all guests partying till late into the evening. At midnight the evening celebrations were drawing to a close and time to say goodnight to a wonderful wedding party.
Most guests stayed overnight and enjoyed a famous St Audries full English breakfast the following morning in the Dining Room.
A wonderful couple had the most wonderful wedding and everyone at St Audries Park wish Christine and Alex a lifetime of happiness and success. We know we will see them again one day soon!
THANK YOU FROM : Mr & Mrs Jacobs
Alex and I have returned from our honeymoon and we are still talking about our fantastic wedding day. It was the best time of our lives and looking back at the photos I cannot believe how smiley we were. There weren’t many tears and I didn’t feel nervous, just so excited and happy.
We just wanted to say thank you. Janette and the team were truly amazing and we couldn’t have dreamt that the day would have been as brilliant and so organised as it was. So many of our friends have said how it was the best wedding they have been to and the venue the best. You and your team made it so special. Thank you xx
