Sarah and Joe’s real life wedding

‘Joe said he never wanted to get married’

Sarah had the biggest shock after Joe always said he wouldn’t get married. Sarah started her normal walk along her childhood beach only to find when she turned around Joe down on one knee with their beautiful daughter Lily. Going from ‘I’m never getting married’ to down on one knee immediately sent Sarah into excitement overload.

The first thing Sarah did was seek out dresses, both for herself and her lovely bridesmaids. Sarah chose her colour scheme straightaway from the back of one of our brochures! If only finding the bridesmaid dresses was as easy. Usually picking the Brides dress is the most stressful, however not for Sarah! Sarah fell in love with the first dress she tried on. Unfortunately this was not the case for the bridesmaids.

Along with the dress the second most important thing for bride? The Venue. Sarah looked online at a couple of other venues and one other in person, but decided St Audries was a must see. Sarah and Joe came along to one of our open days. They both fell in love ‘it was just stunning!’ And with that they decided there and then that they didn’t need to see any other venue.

Sarah and Joe had reserved Holly Cottage and Church Lodge for the night before their wedding. Allowing Sarah and her Bridal Party to have one final girl’s night! Hot tub, Prosecco, and your girls, what more could you ask for?!

The morning of the wedding was nice and relaxed as Sarah only had the short walk to our beautiful brides dressing room where more prosecco was being popped open.

Prosecco flowing, makeup being finished and hair being preened to perfection.

Joe arrived at St Audries on the morning of the wedding to make the final preparations in their spacious Bridal suite.

The big moment!

The morning soon flew by and in next to no time it was time for Sarah to be walked down the aisle with her father.

Sarah and Joe chose to have the drinks reception inside our Grand Hall, the fire was lit and roaring away creating a lovely homely feel for everyone to relax and enjoy their canapes and welcome drinks.

After enjoying their 3 course wedding breakfast in the bright burgundy banqueting hall it was then time for the speeches! Sarah’s uncle made a speech which he informs everyone he did not write prior to the big moment! It was perfect and still brings a smile to my face when I play it back!

Cake cut in front of the fire.

As the evening just gets started and the cake gets cut its time for the first dance.

Slow first dance.

The newlyweds chose Ed Sheeran to slow dance to In front of the log fire. Once the first dance nerves had passed the night was theirs to party away.
