The Minerva String Quartet has a reputation for providing high quality live music for every occasion. All professional musicians, we play for weddings, civil partnerships, anniversaries, corporate functions, receptions, parties, balls, exhibitions and banquets in Bristol, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, the Midlands, Wiltshire, Worcestershire, Somerset and South Wales.
Live music has an immediacy and clarity that pre-recorded music cannot offer. The visual and aural impact of a quality string quartet can add an extra touch of class to your special day.
We appreciate the importance of flexibility and can play for the ceremony, pre-reception drinks and/or the wedding breakfast. The quality of our playing has led to recording work for the BBC, providing incidental music for Radio 4 plays and soundtracks for Channel 4 productions. Versatile and adaptable, the quartet also features on the albums of the cult pop group ‘Porcupine Tree’ and the Japanese vocalist Halo. We have also given concerts for music societies and festivals across the South West and Wales, including Gloucester Music Society, Torbay Concert Society, Frome Festival, Tenby Arts Festival and the Three Choirs Festival.
The members of the Minerva String Quartet also work as freelance musicians and have performed with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Bristol Old Vic Theatre Company, Emerald Ensemble, English Symphony Orchestra, Joensuu City Orchestra (Finland), London City Ballet, National Chamber Orchestra of South Africa, Welsh National Opera and the Ulster Orchestra.
